The Wright Stuff Festival - Random Access Memory

The Wright Stuff is a playwright incubation programme by Toy Factory, where new playwrights and their first plays are chosen from an open call to be developed under the tutelage of Toy’s Artistic Directors. It is an invaluable platform for these new writers’ plays to be mentored and eventually staged - with professional directors helming them.

RAM and GIG – two inseparable parts in charge of memory in a computer – are encumbered with the task of deciding which memories of a dead boy is worth keeping. As they struggle with the weight of the impossible job, they are confronted again and again on what it means to be human – and what legacy truly means.

The Wright Stuff Festival - PERMANENCE

Luggage in tow and drink in hand, Blanche is back home. Tired of running and longing for more, she steps back into her old life, colliding with everything she once left behind. Permanence weaves in and out Blanche’s life at different points in time, following her frantic journey as she struggles to survive, fighting the dread of domesticity, the fraughtness of relationships, and the toxicity of a past that she can’t seem to shake off. Through it all, she comes face to face with herself from the past, the present and the future, with a front-row seat in seeing how a life slowly breaks across time.
